The MoPac Board will vote for a new President, Vice President and our region’s second USCA Board representative when it meets via conference call on Wed, May 23. Anyone in MoPac is welcome to run for the USCA Board spot. It is a 3-year commitment to attend 2 board meetings per year and to serve on USCA committees. The meetings are usually in Minneapolis and at present, reps pay their own expenses. It’s a tough job but an amazing opportunity to have a big impact on the future of USA curling. If you are interested, contact Erik de Vreeze, Nick Kitinski or your club’s MoPac rep before the meeting on Wednesday, May 23.

There will also be a vote on a proposed bylaw amendment to allow MoPac officers to be non-board members. At the moment, officers can only be chosen from the MoPac directors.

The MoPac board of directors will vote on all of these decisions.

I’m happy to answer any questions you have: Gabrielle@BayAreaCurling.com

Thanks,
Gabrielle Coleman
MoPac rep to the USCA

As outlined in the attached file, grant applications will be accepted in two categories: Growth & Development and Bricks & Mortar. Funding requests can range from $2,500 to $20,000, with a total of $20,000 to be distributed during the 2012-2013 grant cycle.

We encourage clubs in all regions to apply.
18 teams will battle it out and get a chance to play on their own level for the first time in MoPac history. We have added skills clinics to send everyone home with a bit more knowledge than when they arrived. We hope to expand this event and to be able to nurture our future members to reach competitive levels.
