The MoPac Men’s and Women’s Club Playdowns will take place at Coyotes Curling Club at Tempe, Arizona on the following dates:
Men’s club playdowns
Registration open: October 16 – November 3
Dates of event: December 6-9
National event: April 2-6, Fargo, ND
Women’s club playdowns
Registration open: October 16 – November 3
Dates of event: December 7-10
National event: April 2-6, Fargo, ND
Previously, we had hoped to have registration open by now but USA Curling is not able to open registration until the new membership model is voted on later this month. As a result, USA Curling plans to open registration for MoPac men’s and women’s club playdowns on October 16.
If the new model is approved, registration for playdowns will cost $100 per player ($25 to USA Curling and $75 to MoPac mainly to cover ice fees). In addition, competitors will need to purchase a competitive membership from USA Curling ($100). The overall cost to compete will be similar to last season if you compete in one event. (If you compete in both clubs and mixed, you will get some savings since the competitive membership only needs to be purchased once.)
Like last year, registration will be done through Sport80. In order to register your teams, you will need each team member’s membership number and birthdate.
Note that registration for club playdowns will close on November 3. This is a smaller window than usual, but necessary due to the unusual circumstances regarding the new membership model and the need to close registration in time to prepare for playdowns which start on December 6.
