MoPac is excited to host the 11th Annual 5&U Bonspiel! This year the bonspiel is a qualifier for the 5&U National Championships in April.
Registration is first come, first serve, but please take note of the deadline dates below.
For the first time ever, this year’s bonspiel is being held at the San Francisco Bay Area Curling Club in Oakland, California from February 9th to February 11th, 2024.
Game play will start on Friday morning with the first draw as early as 8:00am (depends on the amount of teams registered, 24-team maximum). Sunday events including afternoon finals followed by award ceremonies so be prepared to make travel plans accordingly.
Starting on Monday, October 30th at 6:00pm PDT, the first 2 teams from each MoPac club who register are guaranteed a spot. Club majority is determined when 3 or more members are from the same club. Other teams will be added to a waitlist and will be added as space allows after November 6th. If you are not part of the first 2 teams from your club that is registered, make sure to get on the waitlist in case any teams drop out!
Team registration fee is $400 payable to MoPac via Zelle. A link will be sent out once your team registration has been confirmed.

Questions regarding eligibility can be directed to the 5&U committee (5u@mopacca.org) and the committee will make any and all final determinations.
Curlers with less than 5 years of experience and less than 21 years old are invited to curl at the MoPac 5&U but are not permitted at the National Event.
Please note: according to USCA, all winners of 5&U qualifier spiels earn a berth. If any of those berths are declined, the spots go to the runners-up in the 5&U qualifier spiels with the greatest number of entries, in descending order. To be clear, the runners up in our event might not be automatically invited to Nationals. Also, any team that goes to Nationals will have to upgrade their USCA membership to the COMPETITOR TIER.
If your team needs to drop out, refunds will be provided on the following schedule:
Before or on December 15th – 100%
Before or on January 12th – 50%
Before or on January 26th – 0%
