The USCA was recently selected to administer the Darwin Curtis Fund grant program on behalf of The Chicago Community Trust. The Darwin Curtis Fund was established to “support and encourage participation by the general public in the sport of curling….” Curling clubs with 501(c)(3) not-for-profit status, as well as other nonprofit organizations looking to grow the sport, are welcome to apply for funding. As outlined in the attached file, grant applications will be accepted in two categories: Growth & Development and Bricks & Mortar. Funding requests can range from $2,500 to $20,000, with a total of $20,000 to be distributed during the 2012-2013 grant cycle.

We encourage clubs in all regions to apply. While I forwarded the announcement to everyone USA Curling currently has listed as club presidents, please feel free to pass along to others in your region you think may be interested in applying for these funds. All application materials must be submitted in full by 5pm CST on Friday, June 22, 2012.

Please feel free to contact me directly with any questions about the program.

Regards,

Kim
