Congratulations to Team Connelly (Wine Country CC) and Team Gilbert (Oval CC) on winning the 2025 MoPac Arena Playdown! They will be representing the MoPac region at the upcoming Arena National Championship at CurlVegas in October.
In the women’s division, Team Connelly – Jordan Connelly, Ashley Spalding, Peg Anderson, Anne Bonache – earned a berth to Nationals after completing the double round robin with a 3-1 record. Team Feldman (Wine Country CC) and Mewers (Orange County CC) finished 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
In the men’s division, Team Gilbert – Ramin Gilbert, Jerry St. James, David Hurst, Gerard Trimberger – secured a spot in the playoffs as the first ranked team of their pool after finishing round robin with a 3-1 record. In the semifinals, they faced fellow club mates, Team Pomeroy (Oval CC), emerging victorious with a score of 7-4. The final was an all Oval affair as Teams Gilbert and Malaret competed to earn the coveted berth to the National event. In the end, Team Gilbert punched their ticket to nationals with a decisive 9-3 victory over Team Malaret.
The Arena National Championship will take place from Oct. 14-19, 2025 at CurlVegas. MoPac will be represented by Team Connelly in the women’s division and Team Gilbert in the men’s division. They will be joined by defending champions Team Asis (Silicon Valley CC) and Spangler (Wine Country CC).
