MoPac Team Selection Process for 2017 U18 National Championship Announced!

The inaugural U18 National Championships will take place March 8-12 at the Milwaukee Curling Club in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. The United States Curling Association (USCA) has allotted the Mountain Pacific Curling Association Region (MoPac) one (1) boys’ and one (1) girls’ berth to the national event. MoPac is requiring that interested and committed teams submit an application by 11:59PM (PST) October 31, 2016. To submit, email completed application package to president@mopacca.org.

A selection committee, consisting of curlers from multiple MoPac Clubs will consider the following when making team selections: past curling history (including league, bonspiel, competitive play, participation in camps or other training), history of playing together as a team, willingness to grow and improve the sport, and positive representation of the spirit of curling. There is no regional playdown for this event.

MoPac Mixed Doubles Championship!

MoPac is happy to present our first ever Mixed Doubles Championship! The competition will be held October 23-25, 2015 at Evergreen Curling Club.

 **This is not a playdown for a national event, there is no American citizenship or residency requirement for this championship. Participants need not be based in the MoPac region.**

MoPac Open and Big Sky Bonspiel March 27-29, 2015

Some 150 curlers made the trek to Missoula, Montana during the last weekend of March to participate in the first ever MoPac Open and Big Sky Bonspiels.

The events kicked off on Friday afternoon with a first round of games followed a ceremonial welcome accompanied by bagpipers from Missoula’s Celtic Dragon pipers.

Over the next three days we would host more than 120 games as each team played at least four games. Several teams slogged through 7 a.m. draws and we all enjoyed a boisterous banquet with heated Lethbridge versus Butte bidding wars at the auction with proceeds going to the growing youth curling program in Missoula.

Nominations are Open!

Nominations are now open for our USCA Director (two year term starting July 1). We will keep nominations open until April 30. Nominations should be sent to BriAnna (secretary@mopacca.org). Individuals may either be nominated or self-nominate. Gordon Maclean, USCA Secretary sent these { (A) (B) (C) } materials regarding the USCA director position.

Additionally, we are accepting nominations for the position of Vice President – also a two-year term (Peter Hicks is just wrapping up the final year of Michael Lively’s term). As mentioned above, members may self-nominate if they wish. Duties of the Vice President are outlined in our bylaws:
