January 23-25, 2026 at CurlVegas
REGISTRATION OPENS TO ALL TEAMS ON WEDNESDAY, OCT. 1 AT 6:00 PM PT
MoPac is excited to host the 13th Annual 5&U Bonspiel! This year’s bonspiel is being held at CurlVegas from January 23, 2026 to January 25, 2026.
Game play will start on Friday morning with the first draw as early as 8:00am (depending on the number of teams registered, 24-team maximum).
Sunday events include *afternoon* finals (probably starting at 1:00pm) followed by award ceremonies so be prepared to make travel plans accordingly. That means … be prepared to play on Fri morning and also be prepared to play Sun afternoon if your team makes the finals. We will not be able to fulfill special start time requests.
Registration will open to ALL teams on Wednesday, October 1st at 6:00pm PDT. The roster will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis based on registration timestamps according to the following: MoPac teams will fill the roster first. A MoPac team consists of 4 dues-paying, league-playing (played in 2025) curlers from a MoPac club. Then starting on Wednesday, October 8th at noon PDT, we will fill the roster with the rest of the teams [composite teams (MoPac+other region) or other regional teams] as space permits.

Team registration fee is $500 payable to MoPac. A link will be sent out once your team registration has been confirmed.
This year the MoPac 5&U is a qualifier for the 5&U National Championships at Granite Curling Club of Seattle from April 22, 2026 to April 26, 2026.
The Spirit of Curling is grounded in fairness, respect, and integrity. That spirit guides us in ensuring a 5&U Bonspiel remains true to its purpose: providing a competitive yet supportive environment for curlers with fewer than 5 years of experience. To maintain a level playing field, it is vitally important that all players adhere to the eligibility standards set forth by USA Curling for Five-and-Under events:
Competitors cannot have more than a total of five seasons of curling experience. A season of curling experience is defined as 10 or more games played between July 1st and June 30th. This includes league play and bonspiel games. Full details on these requirements can be found here: https://www.usacurling.org/qualification-procedures By following these rules, we protect both the fairness of the competition and the spirit of curling itself. All players will be required to certify that they have not played more than 5 seasons of curling.
If an ineligible player is on the winning team, they could jeopardize the eligibility of the team to continue to the Nationals event. Directly from USCA’s Qualifying Procedures: any player who has more than 5 years of curling experience and competes in either a Qualifying Bonspiel or the National Championship will be barred from competing in any USA Curling championship for 2 years.
Also, all winners of a 5&U qualifier spiel earn a berth. If any of those berths are declined, the spots go to the runners-up in the 5&U qualifier spiels with the greatest number of entries, in descending order. To be clear, the runners up in our event might not be automatically invited to Nationals.
Any team that goes to Nationals will have to upgrade their USCA membership to the COMPETITOR TIER.
