Congratulations to Team Siggins (Coyotes) and Team Thangadurai (San Francisco Bay Area) on winning the DoubleTakeOut.Com MoPac Men’s and Women’s Club Championship in December.

Team Siggins (Sean Murray, Mike Siggins, Adam Endicott, Eric Kowal)

Team Siggins (Mike Siggins, Sean Murray, Adam Endicott, Eric Kowal) finished pool play with a 4-1 record to earn their spot in the playoffs. In the all Coyotes affair in the playoffs – Teams Siggins, LeClair, Slusar, and Tait all hail from Coyotes – Team Siggins faced last year’s champions Team LeClair in the semifinals. In a tight-match throughout, Siggins was able to convert with hammer in the 8th to secure the 6-5 victory over LeClair. In the final against Team Tait, Siggins scored 3 in the second end, after having blanked the first. With steals in the last two ends, Teams Siggins claimed the championship with a 7-4 victory.

Team Thangadurai (Subasthika Thangadurai, Claire Blaske, Abby Lin, Amy Verway-Cohen, Coach Gord Copithorne)

Team Thangadurai (Subasthika Thangadurai, Claire Blaske, Abby Lin, Amy Verway-Cohen) finished at the top of the women’s pool – the largest in MoPac history with 9 teams. Their 5-1 record during pool play earned them the number one seed in the playoffs, facing Team McDonald (Coyotes) in the semis. With a 6-3 win over McDonald, Team Thangadurai faced fellow clubmates in Team Walsh (San Francisco Bay Area) in the final. In the end, Team Thangadurai emerged victorious with a decisive score of 8-4.

Teams Siggins and Thangadurai will go on to represent MoPac at the Club National Championship in Chaska, MN this March.

Thank you to our host, Coyotes Curling Club, for their continued support of MoPac in hosting this event over the years!
